In 2017, Margo Naranjo, a student at Stephen F. Austin University in Texas, went on a mission trip to the Tenderloin with her church. She immediately fell in love with City Impact and felt a deep spiritual connection with the people of the Tenderloin. She found her purpose in bringing others together to share God’s love. She returned for the next two years with plans to return again the following year. Tragically, in 2020, she was struck by a distracted driver, leaving her quadriplegic in a minimally conscious state.
To honor her dedication to City Impact and the Tenderloin, we are establishing a scholarship to provide financial assistance to aspiring missionaries who wish to grow in their faith and serve in the Tenderloin.
