ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

ROLE SUMMARY

The Accountant will be responsible for executing all of the organization’s bookkeeping and core accounting functions. Provides day to day support for all accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, Month End and Year End closes. Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing and analyzing financial reports.

Supervisor: Executive Director of Business Administration

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ●  Perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary

  • ●  Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

  • ●  Initiate all recurring payments for the organization and review accounts as needed

  • ●  Ensure timely payment of invoices including recurring invoices as well as intercompany transactions.

  • ●  Train and mentor program staff in accounting policies and procedures for budget and internal controls.

  • ●  Perform other related duties and tasks as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • ●  Four-year degree in business or accounting.

  • ●  Certification as a Certified Management Accountant or CPA is desirable but not required.

  • ●  Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and/or finance

  • ●  Thorough knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures

  • ●  Strong attention to detail and confidentiality

  • ●  Expertise with QuickBooks

  • ●  Extensive knowledge of US GAAP

  • ●  Experience in dealing with the full cycle of accounting transactions, including but not limited to the

    following:

  • ○  Payables

  • ○  Billings

  • ○  Payroll

  • ○  Fixed assets

  • ○  Inventory

  • ○  Journal entry preparation

  • ○  Account reconciliations

  • ○  Preparation of financial statements

  • ○  Variance analysis

  • ○  Budget preparation

  • ●  Experience managing CapEx and depreciation

  • ●  Understanding of accounting month end closing procedures

  • ●  Ability to interpret and analyze the financial statements including actual to budget variance analysis.

  • ●  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • ●  Knowledge of computer systems, including Excel; CRM (Salesforce); financial reporting and accounting

    software

  • ●  Ability to organize and process and successfully execute multiple projects simultaneously and under tight

    deadlines.

  • ●  Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
