OVERVIEW
SF City Impact exists to intervene on behalf of the people in the inner-city of San Francisco. The Development Department is responsible for fundraising and building connections that lead to the future success of the organization.
ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Assistant Development Director, the Development Officer’s primary responsibility is to acquire, manage, and grow private donations to City Impact. The Development Officer will manage a portfolio of existing donors and seek out potential donors to obtain donations and meet monthly fundraising goals. The Development Officer is responsible for tracking progress toward monthly goals and maintain relationships with assigned prospects.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify, cultivate, and solicit financial report from assigned and acquired prospects
Manage and maintain donor relationships and cultivation strategies, traveling when necessary to meet with donors or donor prospects
Communicate City Impact’s needs to donors; serve as a development liaison to the public, give presentations to the public as assigned
Maintain donor records, acknowledgment procedures, and regularly update the database
Develop fundraising campaign materials, case statements, brochures, reports, and research materials
Engage in regular donor calls and calling campaigns for fundraising and solicitation
Regularly research individual and corporate prospects to acquire new donors
Participate in special projects or other assigned duties
Assist at special events and marketing campaign activities
COMPETENCIES:
The individual chosen for this position will be charismatic, well-spoken, and driven. He or she will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, acting as an excellent representative of City Impact to individual donors and the public. The Development Officer will be able to articulate City Impact’s financial needs persuasively and with professionalism, demonstrating success in donor relations. He or she will be comfortable with frequent contact with donors for cultivation and solicitation, both in-person and over the phone. Finally, this individual will be someone who thrives in a highly motivated team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 2-3 years of experience in professional development
Exceptional relational skills, communication, and public speaking ability
Communicates with a high level of professionalism
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple ongoing tasks, strong experience developing processes and protocols to ensure efficient and accurate data management and donor follow-up
Excellent problem solver. Takes initiative, recognizes opportunities, and develops plans for effective execution of those opportunities.
Strong team player with a willingness to collaborate, work hands-on, and support the success of the development team and City Impact
SCHEDULE
Full-time
Monday-Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Assist in annual SFCI outreaches/events
Occasional weekend hours and travel
